Kansas Planned Parenthood wants criminal abortion records returned
A lawyer for a Planned Parenthood clinic in Kansas is seeking to recover records gathered during a criminal investigation now that all charges against the abortion provider have been dropped. Pedro Irigonegaray said Tuesday that he?s contacted the offices of Attorney General Derek Schmidt, Johnson County District Attorney Steve Howe and Shawnee County District Judge Richard Anderson. Earlier this month, Howe dropped the last of the 107 criminal charges filed by the previous district attorney against Planned Parenthood?s clinic in Overland Park. [read more]

Fiji Government Rejects Proposal for Assisted Suicide Clinic
Fiji?s government has turned down a proposal by an Australian euthanasia advocate to set up an assisted suicide clinic there. Dr Nischke previously said the clinic could a considerable source of revenue for Fiji if it went ahead. The government says the proposal was never seriously considered. Fiji?s Methodist Church has welcomed the decision. The church?s deputy general-secretary, the Reverend Tevita Banivanua, says Fijian Christians would never have supported it. ?We agree with the government, that they have taken the right steps,? he said. ?Maybe we are not like people in Europe that have given freedom for ending life in that way.?
